    Arnold & Son is a historic British brand that was relaunched by Swiss watchmaking company The British Masters before it was taken over by La Joux-Perret. Today, it is part of the Citizen Group. The idea behind The British Masters concept was to follow in the tradition of the great British watchmakers, namely George Graham (1673-1751) and John Arnold (1736-1799). The first “Graham” and “Arnold & Son” collection was launched in 1998.

    Case

    The case is 44 mm in diameter (48 mm with crown; 52 mm ‘lug to lug’) and 11 mm high. The diameter case is made of stainless steel and equipped with a sapphire glass with anti-reflective coating and a transparent bezel, showing the craftsmanship of the mechanism’s finishing. The silver iridescent dial is designed in the model’s characteristic manner – with two large time counters: one for local time, the other for GMT. In addition, the watch offers 24-hour indicators for both zones and an Equation of Time complication, making it an extremely advanced horological instrument

    Mechanism

    The watch is equipped with the Arnold & Son A&S1209 manual movement, which is a manufactory design with two independent regulating systems. It has 42 jewels, the walk reserve is about 40 hours, and the operating frequency is 21,600 oscillations per hour (3 Hz).

    The mechanism is distinguished by its unique architecture – two spring drums, two catchers and two balancers are responsible for independent time indications for two zones, a rare solution in watchmaking.

    Strap

    The watch has an original alligator leather strap, emphasizing its luxurious character, buckle clasp.
