In the early 20th century, the Swiss town of Hölstein gained the notoriety for which it remains famous today. In 1904, two men - Paul Cattin and Georges Christian - opened a watchmaking factory there, naming the brand after a nearby stream whose course greatly inspired them. The world quickly heard about Oris watches. Just two years later, the company took the domestic job market by storm. In 1906, Cattin and Christian opened their second factory, thus leading to faster growth of their brand, while becoming the largest local employer. After 2 years of existence, the company already employed more than 300 professionals, with the goal of further market expansion. Today, labor policy and innovation have led Oris to divide into 4 main categories - culture, diving, aviation and motor sports.
