Seikosha - today Seiko - is a combination of words meaning "successful, miniature" and "house." Since its inception, the Japanese company has been a house of pioneering, to which it owes its high position in the world market. The history of the Seiko brand began in 1881, when its founder, Kintaro Hattori, decided to revolutionize Asian watchmaking, following the example of its Western competitors. Disasters haunting Japan plunged the factory into ruins, claiming with it 1,500 watches entrusted for repair. Hattori, moved by the loss of his customers' timepieces, decided to rebuild production, of which he will donate the first one and a half thousand products to the losing customers. The decision of the just and empathetic owner touched the public - despite the passage of almost 100 years, the Japanese still associate the event with customer care and brand philosophy. To this day, Seiko, is Japan's leading manufacturer of men's and women's watches, rivaling the most recognizable Swiss manufactures.
