    Description

    The IWC Portugieser Automatic 7 Days is one of the most distinctive and highly regarded models from the Schaffhausen-based manufacturer. Reference IW500705 stands out with its elegant silver dial, blue hands, and applied Arabic numerals, as well as the symmetrical layout of the small seconds sub-dial and the seven-day power reserve indicator. The steel case has a diameter of 42.3 mm, and the watch is water-resistant to 30 meters.

    Case

    The round case is made of stainless steel and measures 42.3 mm in diameter, approximately 14.5 mm in thickness, and approximately 50 mm from lug to lug. The width between the lugs is 22 mm. A slim, polished bezel surrounds a silver dial featuring blue feuille-style hands, applied Arabic numerals, and an outer railway-track minute scale. The small seconds sub-dial is positioned at 9 o’clock, the seven-day power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock, and the date window at 6 o’clock. The dial is protected by a domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, while the transparent sapphire crystal case back allows you to observe the operation of the in-house movement.

    Mechanism

    The watch is powered by the in-house IWC Caliber 52010 automatic movement. The caliber features 31 jewels, operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, and offers approximately 168 hours—or 7 days—of power reserve. The Pellaton automatic winding system uses components made of wear-resistant ceramic, and two mainspring barrels ensure stable power transmission. The movement displays hours, minutes, a small seconds hand, a date window, and the power reserve level, and features a stop-seconds function for precise time setting.

    Strap

    The watch comes standard with a 22-mm-wide blue alligator leather strap. The strap complements the blue hands and numerals on the silver-toned dial and is fitted with an original IWC steel folding clasp.
