Case

The stainless steel case has a subtly octagonal outline with strongly rounded corners, encircling a round dial; it is 36 mm wide without the crown. The model described by Gray & Sons is approximately 8 mm thick, 41 mm long from lug to lug, and has a strap attachment width of 18 mm.

The stepped, polished bezel creates several concentric edges around the crystal, emphasizing the three-dimensional structure of the front. The smooth surfaces and gently rounded sides harmonize with the short, distinctly defined lugs. Their slender form keeps the dial and decorative rim in the spotlight, while the classic attachment ensures a clean transition between the case and the strap.

The navy-blue dial is protected by a crystal, the material of which must be verified on the actual watch. Bright hour markers contrast with the dark background, while small bright dots are arranged on the inner ring of the dial. At the 3 o’clock position is a distinctive crown with a rounded head and raised dots around the circumference for easier grip.

Mechanism

The watch is equipped with a Swiss mechanical movement with automatic winding. Archival descriptions of the G.3558.7 reference indicate a design based on an ETA caliber. The movement provides central hour, minute, and second hands, as well as a date window positioned at the 9 o’clock position.

The automatic winding mechanism uses the movement of the wrist to replenish the mainspring’s energy. The time is set using the crown. The exact caliber designation, number of jewels, operating frequency, and nominal power reserve have not been reliably confirmed for this particular watch; they require identification of the movement after opening the case.

Strap

The watch features a light blue leather strap with a distinct, fine-scale texture. The surface’s subtle sheen highlights its texture, while the darker stitching running along the edges gives the whole piece a defined outline. The light-colored lining contrasts with the outer side of the strap.

The blue color scheme brightens the design and complements the navy blue dial and the cool tone of the polished steel. The strap gives the watch a less formal character while preserving the elegance of the classic case.
