    Description

    This pre-owned authentic Rolex Lady-Datejust watch, reference 79174, features the Sodalite Serti dial configuration, as specified in the original documentation. The blue sodalite gives the dial the character of a natural stone, while the diamond hour markers create a jewel-like contrast against its deep color. The 26-mm-diameter steel case is complemented by a fluted bezel in 18-karat white gold and a Jubilee bracelet. The date window with a Cyclops lens retains the Datejust’s signature functionality.     Case

    The round Oyster case measures 26 mm in diameter and is crafted from steel, while the distinctive fluted bezel is made of 18-karat white gold. The faceted ring reflects light, highlighting the model’s jewel-like finish. Slender lugs connect the case to the Jubilee bracelet. The Sodalite Serti dial with diamond hour markers is protected by sapphire crystal, and the Cyclops lens positioned above the date window at 3 o’clock magnifies the day-of-the-month display. A screw-down crown is located on the side. The back features a solid, screw-down caseback without a view window into the movement.

    Mechanism

    The Rolex 2235 in-house caliber is an automatic movement with a central seconds hand and a quick-set date display. The movement is mounted on 31 jewels, operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), and provides approximately 48 hours of power reserve. The movement belongs to the family of small Rolex calibers developed for compact ladies’ cases. It allows for manual winding of the mainspring and stopping the seconds hand while setting the time; the date is adjusted using the crown.

    Strap

    The steel Jubilee bracelet features a five-row link arrangement, with three narrower rows in the center and wider outer links. This design highlights the jewelry-like character of the sodalite and diamond dial, maintaining a sense of visual lightness despite the small case. The bracelet fastens with a folding clasp, and its end links are contoured to fit the shape of the wrist.
