    Description

    The Patek Philippe Calatrava 5117J-001 is one of the most iconic models in the history of the Geneva-based manufacturer and a perfect embodiment of the Calatrava collection’s philosophy, which has been a symbol of timeless elegance since 1932. The distinctive Clous de Paris (hobnail) bezel, the white dial with black Roman numerals, and the case crafted from 18-karat yellow gold create a harmonious composition that has long stood as a model of classic watchmaking of the highest caliber.

    The watch offered here dates from February 2004. It is a pre-owned watch, sold in its original set with the box and documentation, including the Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin. Reference number 5117J-001. The watch is water-resistant to 25 meters.

    Case

    The case, with a diameter of 37 mm, a thickness of approximately 8 mm, a lug-to-lug length of approximately 44 mm, and a lug spacing of 20 mm, is crafted from 18-karat yellow gold (750). Its most distinctive feature is the hand-finished Clous de Paris bezel, an icon of the Calatrava collection. The model is equipped with scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a transparent case back, allowing the wearer to admire the workings of the in-house movement.

    Mechanism

    The watch is equipped with a Patek Philippe Caliber 315 SC in-house automatic movement, featuring 30 jewels and offering approximately 45 hours of power reserve. The movement operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and features a central rotor made of 21-karat gold. The dial displays hours, minutes, a central seconds hand, and a date window at the 3 o’clock position. The caliber is renowned for its exceptional precision, reliability, and hand-finishing in accordance with Patek Philippe’s highest standards.

    The watch features an elegant strap made of high-quality leather, which perfectly complements the model’s classic style. The design is rounded out by an original buckle made of 18-karat yellow gold, ensuring comfort and security.
